This is really a hidden treasure. I'm always skeptical of "award winning" claims, but the chili here was truly delicious. When you think of a burger, Lou's deluxe burger (I think that's what it's called) really covers all the bases. The Reuben also hits the spot. Lou's focuses on the food, not high-end style, but if you're looking for a great, quick, no-frills meal, look no further.
The signature house dish, "Eggs Louie" is perfection. Two perfectly poached eggs, atop Canadian Bacon, and served with fried red bliss potatoes. I elected to modify mine by the use of Swiss cheese, instead of cheddar. Finest egg dish to be had, anywhere.
A Fun Breakfast/Lunch Joint
I drive by Lou's all the time and have never stopped. The outside does not shout "Come On In" I had some eggs and sausage. The food was excellent, The waitress was friendly and she kept refilling my coffee! Who could ask for more. They do only breakfast and lunch.
We were driving through the area on the way home from a baseball tournament. This place came up on our GPS and we figured we would give it a try. We loved it. The food was very good; the service and atmosphere was just the best. So friendly and kind, we even got a magic trick. My son said, "these are the best pancakes I ever had." Just a cute, lovely little diner. So glad we found it.
Great breakfast and service. Just off I-84. Easy on and off.
